Distant Chimes records hat-trick as Morris keeps clocking up the road miles

Jockey Luke Morris’ whistle-stop tour around the country stopped off at Wolverhampton before he headed to Newmarket's evening meeting, and he made the first trip worthwhile by recording a double after partnering Distant Chimes and Daring Guest to victory.

Distant Chimes, who was the most impressive of his two victors, racked-up his hat-trick in the space of 16 days when defying top weight in the 1m6f handicap at odds of 8-15, and Morris predicted a bright future for Sir Mark Prescott's fast improving four-year-old.

Morris said: "He is a lovely, big horse and he has done well so far to win three quick races on the bounce. I think there is a bit more to come from him, especially when he gets some cut in the ground around more orthodox tracks in the autumn months."
