Deutsch dusts himself down after Grand National tumble to score on Bennachie

Golden girl Bryony Frost was the star turn at Plumpton following her Grand National heroics but Remember Forever, her sole ride on the card, managed only third in the 2m3½f handicap chase for conditionals, a race that went the way of a jockey who had an altogether different experience at Aintree 24 hours earlier.

While Frost finished a magnificent fifth on Milansbar, Charlie Deutsch got no further that Becher’s Brook on the first circuit aboard Houblon Des Obeaux, taking a fall that left him requiring medical attention on the course.

Yet despite being trampled over, he dusted himself down to partner the sure-footed Bennachie to success for Tim Vaughan.
