At Ascot on Friday John Gosden introduced an exciting juvenile colt in Seven Heavens. At Newmarket yesterday it was the turn of one of the trainer's fillies to make a striking debut with Dabyah scoring in pleasing fashion under Frankie Dettori.

Both the winner and runner-up, Amabilis, look exciting prospects but given what happened in the corresponding 7f maiden 12 months ago they have plenty to live up to – as indeed do all those behind the front pair.
