Jim Crowley, the lucky man in the hottest of seats as Battaash's rider, revels in riding Flat racing's Ferrari but he had experience of clashing with The Tank in his former guise as a jump jockey.

Crowley, perhaps not so memorably for him, took part in the mighty Denman's second novice hurdle at Wincanton in November 2005.

Paul Nicholls' heavyweight champion – nicknamed The Tank by his adoring fan club – strolled home by 16 lengths.
