David Menuisier had only one runner on Thursday – Battle Of Issus at Hamilton – but ended up with two winners.

Well, sort of.

The aforementioned gelding relished the easy ground under Silvestre de Sousa, but Menuisier – based in West Sussex – did not make the 431-mile trip to Hamilton because he went to the BHA's London offices to fight the corner of his recent Goodwood winner Atalanta's Boy, whose victory was being contested by connections of runner-up Spanish Star.
