Televisions were shouted at from various living rooms in Britain as syndicate members with Hambleton Racing enjoyed watching Magical Spirit secure his second consecutive course win in the 5f handicap.

The Kevin Ryan-trained sprinter looks a four-year-old worth following after his ready victory under Kevin Stott by two lengths and a quarter.

Owners are not allowed to attend meetings under strict protocols in place for racing’s resumption but Cosmo Charlton, the head racing manager for Hambleton Racing, hopes the situation will improve as the year goes on.
