Deadly Dynamite Dollars downs Kalashnikov in battle of the star novices

Having exploded onto the big-race scene at Sandown, Dynamite Dollars made an even bigger bang at Kempton, showing himself to be a serious Racing Post Arkle Chase contender by winning the battle of the novice weapons with his comprehensive defeat of Kalashnikov.

The scalp of Lalor had already been taken by Dynamite Dollars, who followed up his success in the Henry VIII Chase with a length-and-a-quarter defeat of Kalashnikov that was made all the more meritorious by the fact the winner was shouldering a 5lb penalty picked up at Sandown.

Lalor had gone into that race as Arkle favourite, while Kalashnikov, sent off here at 4-6, went into this 32Red-backed Wayward Lad Novices' Chase in the same lofty position.
