Delta Work confirmed his Savills Chase superiority over Kemboy and Presenting Percy in a Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup that delivered as a spectacle, but Al Boum Photo still looks the one to beat at Cheltenham.

A serious case could be made for any of the big three as the race reached its boiling point after the second-last, but the manner in which Gordon Elliott's top-notch stayer found under pressure suggested the extra couple of furlongs he faces next month could be right up his street.

Delta Work's ability to switch off and deliver a knockout punch as the 12th round approaches is an attractive quality, but connections of Al Boum Photo could reap the reward of a quieter campaign and the horse seeking back-to-back wins in the Cheltenham highlight could have a little too much class for him.
