De Giles still enjoying the country life with Carcharias success
City trader-turned-trainer Ed de Giles knows all about figures and added to his already impressive strike-rate at the track with the success of the Jim Crowley-partnered Carcharias in the mile handicap.
De Giles is based near Ledbury and has now saddled eight winners from 27 runners here in the last four years.
He said: “This is my local course, so it’s just as well most of the horses seem to like coming here as many of them want decent ground, which is what we usually get.
