De Bromhead delighted as Mullinavat makes his mark over hurdles

Mullinavat had never enjoyed success of any kind under rules before joining Henry de Bromhead’s stable earlier in the summer, but the eight-year-old notched his third since making the switch with an electric display in the 2m handicap hurdle.

Mullinavat has been given a new lease of life winning races from the front, but he is best known for his chasing exploits and the win was his first over hurdles.

Rated 118 over fences, he was taking advantage of a hurdle rating of just 86 and despite the mammoth swing, De Bromhead was keen to point out that it does not always quite work out as planned.
