There is no such thing as a certainty, as backers of 1-16 shot Blue Rambler found to their cost in the two-runner 3m½f novice hurdle.

With the Paul Nicholls-trained Give Me A Copper a non-runner having knocked a joint, the £8,500 contest ended up as a match. And it was seemingly a one-sided match, with Wetherby handicap winner Blue Rambler looking to have around two stone in hand of sole rival Duel At Dawn.
