David Probert makes up for missing Star success with treble strike

David Probert's heart might have been in Doncaster, but his head was definitely in Chester.

Probert started a strong book of rides for Andrew Balding with a smile on his face after old favourite and regular ride Dancing Star, on whom he won the 2016 Stewards' Cup, took the opening Group 3 Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster.

After edging a tight finish to the 7½f novice stakes just ten minutes later on Indomitable – also owned by Jeff Smith and trained by Balding – the jockey said: "Dancing Star doesn't have the speed she had as a three-year-old but it's great to see her get back to winning ways."
