Dashel Drasher bounces back at Haydock as frost takes out four fences

Dashel Drasher bounced back quickly after an early unseat at Newbury last week to win a novice chase at Haydock greatly diminished as a jumping test due to the omission of four fences.

Although the sun shone brightly throughout the meeting, it was problems with frost in shaded areas that caused the changes and resulted in what must be some sort of record, as the four runners in the 2m5½f contest travelled the best part of three quarters of a mile before jumping the first.

While Dashel Drasher's trainer Jeremy Scott was delighted with the performance, he was left to question the substance of the seven-length success.
