The buzz of excitement was tangible as Finniston Farm left trainer Tom Dascombe waxing lyrical following a striking debut success in the 6f novice stakes.

The Helmet colt, a half-brother to the stable's Listed winner Crowley's Law, had been capturing the imagination at home and transferred his work to the track at the first time of asking.

"That was exciting, we've loved him from the minute we've had him," said the trainer.
