Champion jockey Jim Crowley returned to the domestic scene following his winter stint in Dubai and wasted no time getting back in full swing by steering Wurood to victory in the 7f fillies' maiden.

Crowley is starting his first season as Hamdan Al Maktoum's retained rider and, despite the pair enjoying success together at Meydan, this was their first official winner together on British soil.

"It's great to be back and nice to start with a winner," said the jockey, who only arrived back in the country on Sunday. "I'm looking forward to getting back into the routine. We've got lots of horses, including plenty of unraced ones, so hopefully we can find a few gems."
