Cossack still number one in Elliott team
Outlander and Don Poli may have fought out the finish to the Lexus but there is no doubt whatsoever in the Gordon Elliott's mind about who is his best chance of winning the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup.
"Don Cossack is our number one," Elliott said without hesitation. "Make no mistake about it. He is the best we have and let's hope we can get him back to Cheltenham in March in the same sort of form he was in last year. He's the one. Don is the one."
Colin Tizzard might have Thistlecrack, Native River and possibly Cue Card but Elliott could challenge for the most represented trainer in the Cheltenham Gold Cup award as he is keen for the Lexus 1-2, Outlander and Don Poli, to have a crack at the big one.
