Club Wexford looked a different horse 24 hours after finishing fifth at Beverley as the eight-year-old bounced back to score in the Class 4 handicap over a mile for Roger Fell.

He was given a more patient ride by 5lb claimer Ben Sanderson, which appeared to do the trick as he stayed on well to defeat favourite Markazi by a neck.

Sanderson said: "He really turned the tables today. He made the running at Beverley and ended up fading, so we planned to drop him in today and that has worked out perfectly."
