Classic entry Chairmanoftheboard shows who's boss as he impresses Channon
Chairmanoftheboard could be heading right to the top after an emphatic eight-length success on his debut in testing conditions at Goodwood.
The Mick Channon-trained winner, who holds an entry in the Irish 2,000 Guineas next spring, was sent off even-money favourite in the 6f novice stakes and his backers were proved right as he powered clear of his rivals in the final couple of furlongs under Charlie Bishop in the manner of a very smart horse.
Channon was suitably impressed and said: “We’ve always thought a bit of him, but he had to go and do it, and when the rain comes you are never too sure.
