Clan Des Obeaux fizzed to a repeat win in the King George but the race was as much about burst bubbles as it was his dominant success.

Having said that, Clan Des Obeaux is only seven and, providing he remains fit and healthy, there is no reason why he cannot dominate the Christmas showpiece over the next few years considering the race plays to his every strength.

For the same reason, and considering he looked a non-stayer at Cheltenham last season, prices as short as 5-1 for the Magners-backed Gold Cup are not the sort which entice.
