Cieren continues Fallon family winning tradition and gets champion's approval

Cieren Fallon had his father and six-time champion jockey Kieren purring after riding his second winner in his first season as an apprentice with a cool and polished performance on Garth Rockett.

His proud dad said: "I was impressed how he got out of being boxed in. I was more nervous watching him than riding in the Derby."

Fallon jnr played down his winner, having dropped his whip early in the straight before landing the 7f apprentice handicap on the Brendan Powell-trained horse, who had won the race last year.
