Christmas In April provided connections with a belated festive treat when landing the Sussex National at Plumpton under Harry Cobden.
The way the Swallowfield Racing-owned eight-year-old won the feature from local hero Uallrightharry and Rathlin Rose has opened the door to a possible Grand National bid down the line.
“He's rated 120 and one day I’d like to think we could make him into a Grand National horse but he needs to be 20lb higher!" said trainer Colin Tizzard.
