An ambitious tilt at the Champion Hurdle remains a possibility for Cyrus Darius after he made the most of his chief market rival failing to complete the course in the Morebattle Hurdle.

The eight-year-old was alongside favourite Born Survivor when that horse crashed out at the second-last in the £25,000 contest, much to the obvious disgust of jockey Harry Skelton, who thumped the ground twice in disgust before hurling his goggles at the turf.

From that point Cyrus Darius had little trouble seeing off his two remaining rivals, going on to defeat One For Harry by seven lengths in the hands of Brian Hughes.
