Stamina worries? What stamina worries? Nobody told A Momentofmadness that five and a half furlongs may be a trip too far in the William Hill Portland Handicap.

Nor did William Buick ride the blisteringly speedy sprinter as though the distance was an issue, having him quickly out of the stalls and soon a couple of lengths clear of his 20 rivals.

Well though the pack rallied in the last 250 yards, the leader always looked set to hold on and he passed the post three-quarters of a length ahead of Encrypted.
