Trainers always like to have a plan and Ben Case is hopeful the victory of the Daryl Jacob-partnered Croco Bay in the 2m½f will provide the perfect springboard for the nine-year-old’s chances in a valuable handicap chase at Market Rasen next month.

Banbury-based Case explained: “Although the horse has won on soft ground I think a faster surface suits him much better and I want to run in the Market Rasen race, so we needed to get a prep race into him as he hadn't raced since finishing fourth at Punchestown last April.
