Caroline Bailey overjoyed as Crosspark battles to Eider Chase glory

Crosspark outbattled previous race winner Mysteree in a pulsating climax to the Vertem Eider Chase to provide trainer Caroline Bailey with the biggest success of her career.

Mysteree, who won the 4m½f marathon in 2017, proved a tough nut to crack but Crosspark dug deep to score by a neck, much to the delight of his trainer.

Bailey, who has around a dozen horses at her Northampton stable, has won the Foxhunter contests at Cheltenham and Aintree but regarded victory in the historic contest as her pinnacle moment.
