Buveur D'Air, winner of the Grade 1 Top Novices' Hurdle last season, got his chasing career off to a fine start as he beat fellow smart prospect Cloudy Dream in the 2m novice chase.

As the field jumped the second-last and headed into the fog, Cloudy Dream was in front and Buveur D'Air was being niggled. When they emerged, the winner had moved alongside with Aidan Coleman showing no sign of the effort he had been shaping up to deliver seconds earlier. He shot clear on the flat to win by over three lengths.
