Burguillos defies mistaken identity to keep King's Flat run going

It is a good thing horses can not read otherwise Burguillos, easy winner of the 1m2f handicap, might have refused to play.

The racecard called him a filly, which led course commentator Martin Harris to call “her” the ready winner and he was a colt in the morning papers, but the Alan King-trained four-year-old is actually a gelding.

Burguillos clearly bears no grudge though as Jimmy Fortune found a willing partner and the pair scored easily to give King a fourth winner on the Flat ahead of saddling two runners in today’s 188bet Chester Cup.
