Rabbah Racing's Breakdancer delivered a poignant win in the second mile handicap on the card for trainers Simon and Ed Crisford.

The three-year-old caused some concern when proving reluctant to enter the stalls, but the 2-1 favourite was quick to jump out under Jack Mitchell. Breakdancer assumed command over three furlongs out and kept on well to win by a length and three-quarters from Flightofthephoenix.

"He's done it nicely, and he's improved from his last start," said Ed Crisford. "It was a testing track, but he got through it well.

"Jack felt that with how the track was riding, he wanted to go forward, and it was the right decision in the end."

The win came a day after the death at 82 of Bruce Raymond, long-time racing manager to Rabbah Bloodstock.

Crisford added :"Bruce was a wonderful guy and he'll be greatly missed. It was nice to have a winner, for sure."

Grace lightning

Amo Racing appear to have an exciting prospect on their hands given the way Ophelia Grace opened her account at the second time of asking in the 5f fillies' maiden.

The Kevin Philippart de Foy-trained juvenile, who had finished a promising runner-up at Beverley 11 days earlier, stormed home by five lengths under David Egan.

Newmarket-based trainers won seven of the eight races on the card, with riders Dylan Hogan and Marco Ghiani benefiting most as both enjoyed doubles.
