Three years ago there were plenty of tears after Brodie Hampson won the Royal Artillery Gold Cup with her father and winning owner Mark watching on not long before he died.

After Hampson and favourite Carlos Du Fruitier had jumped their rivals ragged on the last circuit Hampson revealed she had scattered her father's ashes by the winning post.

"Dad was in the Royal Artillery for 24 years and was definitely looking down and watching over me," said Hampson, 24, who has recovered from breaking her back a second time last summer in a fall at Newton Abbot.
