It was a magnificent day for Tom Scudamore, who landed the first-ever four-timer of his 20-year riding career. What is more remarkable is that he had just four rides.

He said: "It's been a fantastic day and one I'll always treasure. It was an eight-hour drive here, I usually fly up but there aren't any flights from Bristol or Exeter on a Sunday."

The rider came in for special praise from trainer Brian Ellison after winning on the Phil Martin-owned Ballyvic Boru who, having won a point-to-point and a bumper, made a successful debut over hurdles when landing odds of 4-7 in the 2m maiden.
