Henry de Bromhead won the Galway Plate in 2015 with Shanahan's Turn but his team for this year's renewal is unlikely to contain The King Of Brega despite him turning yesterday's trial into a procession.

Twenty-one-year-old Dylan Robinson had never ridden a winner over fences before, and he might never ride an easier winner as The King Of Brega kicked clear leaving the back straight and coasted home 12 lengths in front of favourite King Leon.

Unfortunately for all involved with The King Of Brega, the lowest-rated horse in last year's Galway Plate was Perfect Gentleman who ran off 139, so their 123-rated nine-year-old will need to get a hefty hike for yesterday's wide-margin win to book a seat at the table at Ballybrit on July 27.
