Bowen warms up for Cheltenham with first ever four-timer with help from stewards

Sean Bowen was the jockey to follow as he posted a first ever four-timer following wins on Colt Lightning, Misty Mai, Lord Bryan and Beau Bay, but he needed the help of the stewards in the latter’s case.

Kauto Riko had got home by a neck from Beau Bay after the pair had duelled from the home turn in the feature 2m handicap chase, but an inquiry was immediately called as the pair had come close together on the run-in.

The stewards decided that Beau Bay had been carried left on the run to line and amended the result.
