Bookies decline to take hefty bites out of King George winner's price

Might Bite may be a three-time Grade 1 winner, but the fact bookmakers were content with a tidying up of his price rather than a full short back and sides suggests the King George winner still has a bit to prove in relation to Gold Cup favourite Sizing John.

There was little to fault about Might Bite's Kempton win, but with 50-1 outsider Double Shuffle and 20-1 shot Tea For Two filling the places the bare form is open to scrutiny.

But what more could he do? His jumping was fluent throughout and he was able to lay up effortlessly with Bristol De Mai, who attempted to run the finish out of the field. He ranks as an each-way shot to nothing for the Timico-sponsored Gold Cup with all firms still offering 5-1 or bigger.
