Bolger to target cross-country races with Blackthorn Prince

Unsurprisingly, Enda Bolger has cross-country races in mind for Blackthorn Prince after the J P McManus-owned six year old landed the 3m handicap hurdle by three-quarters of a length under Mark Walsh.

Blackthorn Prince was following up his first hurdles win at Ballinrobe last month and Bolger said: "We'll go for another three mile hurdle with him before he goes back over fences.

"He's had a couple of runs in cross-country chases and is a very good jumper as he showed today. We could do with him for those sort of races later in the season and he does have a mark over fences."
