The debate will go on as to which horse would have won the feature Grade 2 McMahons Builders Providers-backed novice chase had odds-on favourite Al Boum Photo not fallen.

Rider Andrew Ring was in no doubt his mount Dounikos would have prevailed no matter what happened at the final fence. Perhaps as he had just ridden the biggest winner of his career it would have been foolish to expect anything other than rock solid certainty from him.

"I had the other horse covered coming down to the last," said Ring, to a raised eyebrow or two from the press pack.
