Philip Hobbs enjoyed two winners from three runners on with smart handicap hurdler Sternrubin taking the feature in convincing fashion.
The seven-year-old, who was an easy winner at Exeter on his penultimate start, was given some encouragement in the back straight before quickening and jumping smartly to seal a comfortable five-length success in the 2m handicap chase.
