Iggulden not afraid to lift the lid after accommodation controversy

Last week Beverley attracted negative coverage for the condition of its accommodation for stable staff, but officials were in no mood for hiding on Tuesday as chief executive Sally Iggulden led a tour of the facilities.

"Just looking around – again!" she called when asked if she wanted anything on visiting the canteen, which on quick inspection was neither scrimping on portions nor taking liberties with price.

But the canteen was never the issue. Charlie Fellowes, acting on a complaint from his staff, last week lamented the conditions in the lodge's bedrooms.
