Bethell geared up for new season as Society wins readily

James Bethell is looking forward to the new season, and the early signs for the trainer are encouraging, as New Society was an emphatic winner of division two of the 1m4f handicap.

Bethell has a team of 40-plus to go to war with, and thinks there are some nice types among them. New Society reinforced that belief when powering clear by two and a quarter lengths under P J McDonald.

A bad back meant the trainer was at home watching the performance, but he liked what he saw.
