Bentley impressed as Rebecca Rocks stays step ahead of the handicapper

Harry Bentley wondered if a 10lb hike for her easy Windsor win might prove too much for Rebecca Rocks in the feature 5f handicap, but Henry Candy described her in the preliminaries as "a very, very quick filly" and his confidence was not misplaced.

The Exceed And Excel filly faced two potent threats from the Robert Cowell stable, plus recent Epsom third Just That Lord, but she forced a blistering pace again and held on gamely by a head from the Cowell-trained Evergate.

Bentley was taken with her and said: "She's very, very fast and she's done well to defy that 10lb rise. I think she's done well to hold on too considering how fast she went early on."
