Bay of plenty for Hobbs after hurdles debut victory
Although the dark and light blue silks of owner Diana Whateley had to settle for second spot with Garde La Victoire in the feature race, they still visited the winner's circle after Resolution Bay made an encouraging start to his jumps career with victory in the 2m1f novice hurdle.
The four-year-old had dumbfounded trainer Philip Hobbs when well beaten in a bumper at Chepstow last April, but made handsome amends on this occasion as he lengthened in pleasing style to comfortably see off Double Treasure.
