Three horses have accounted for the ten winners enjoyed by trainer Damian English this year, and the very busy Bluesbreaker registered his third win of 2016 with a game victory under Rory Cleary in the 5f handicap.

The gelded son of Fastnet Rock has been an unqualified success for English, having been bought for just 800gns out of Richard Hannon's stable last year. "It was worth breaking the bank for him wasn't it?" English joked.

Bluesbreaker's victories at Cork and Tipperary in the spring had been earned on bottomless going but on this occasion he showed that better ground was not an issue as he battled on strongly for a narrow victory over Shanghai Beauty and Rattling Jewel.
