It was agony for jockey James Reveley and delight for trainer Lucinda Russell on a day of contrasting fortunes in the Scottish Borders.

French champion jockey Reveley suffered a tragic return to his homeland as the first of his two scheduled rides, multiple Grade 1 winner Reve De Sivola, collapsed and died during the 3m2f handicap hurdle.

And the foot injury he sustained in that incident compounded his disappointment as he was forced to give up the winning ride on the Russell-trained Forest des Aigles.
