Back-to-form Hobbs keeps sending out winners following Contented success

After enduring a season to forget last term, Philip Hobbs has seemingly turned the corner in style as Contented proved to be his sixth winner from nine runners when landing the 2m4f novice handicap chase.

The five-year-old was never far away in the hands of Richard Johnson on his chasing debut and delivered a good jump at the final fence before digging deep on the run to the line to get up and deny Hillary View by a length and a quarter.

Hobbs was represented by his daughter Diana and she said: “We need the winners after last season, which was little short of a disaster numbers-wise, but all the the horses are looking well this time around and I think we currently have a strike-rate of 66 per cent.
