Faye McManoman proved sleep is for the wicked as she continued her boss Nigel Tinkler's red-hot form on Muker in the 5f handicap.

McManoman did not get back home until 2am after winning for Tinkler at Kempton on Thursday and was back up and working just four hours later. However, she made it successive wins in less than 24 hours with the seven-year-old's neck victory.

The winning rider told Sky Sports Racing: "It's great to be on horses like him. He really tries for you and everything was perfect. I can't take too much credit as he's a great horse and Nigel has done a great job with him.

"He's so genuine, tries so hard and when I saw the pace they were going, I thought happy days."

Muker's win took Tinkler's strike-rate in the last fortnight to 30 per cent, and the trainer explained why his gelding's regular rider Alex Jary was not on board this time.

He said: "Alex gets on well with this lad, but he's only got a few more winners to go before his 5lb claim reduces, so I'm keeping it for myself!

"We were worried about the lack of claim, but the horse is a superstar."

Duo off the cold list

Trevor Whelan and Pierre-Louis Jamin both gained much-needed winners as they took their names off the cold list.

Whelan had been unsuccessful on his previous 30 rides before striking on Gran Descans in the 1m4f novice contest, while Jamin ended a 27-day drought on Arkinthestars in the 1m2f handicap.
