Perhaps the name of Bachasson will be worth remembering as the season goes on. He may not be the biggest horse to go chasing but there was plenty of spring in his jumping as he dismissed his three opponents with some ease in the 2m6f Listed chase.

The Willie Mullins-trained winner started his chasing career on a foggy Thursday at this venue almost a year ago, when he fell in the race won by subsequent Cheltenham Festival winner Tully East, and this performance underlined he has come a long way since then.

Trying this trip for the first time over fences, he pretty much took Paul Townend to the front four out and from there he jumped and galloped his three rivals into quick submission.
