Star Of Emaraaty proved no match for American raider Campanelle in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot, but she opened her account at the third time of asking in the 7f fillies' novice auction.

Having broken smartly under Kevin Stott, the daughter of Pride Of Dubai showed her experience to get the better of newcomer Party Spirit by a neck.

Star Of Emaraaty survived a stewards' inquiry after she drifted into the runner-up, but there was plenty to like about her gritty attitude. The Kevin Ryan-trained filly was second on debut, before finishing 11th in the Queen Mary last month.
