All-weather champion trainer Stephen Thorne continues in fine form with quickfire double at Dundalk

Last season's Irish all-weather champion trainer Stephen Thorne was in fine form at Dundalk again as he saddled a quickfire double with two horses at contrasting ends of the market.

Odds-on favourite Ocean Manifest had finished runner-up on his last two starts at Killarney and Dundalk but went one better on his seventh start under Colin Keane in the mile maiden. Keane never saw another rival on the four-year-old and scored with plenty in hand, coming home four and a quarter lengths clear of Seola.

In the following 7f maiden, Alissam made a winning debut under Jack Kearney, showing an excellent attitude to come from the rear of mid-division in the straight and poke his head in between Now Maybe and Fox In Flight on the line to prevail by a nose.

The Sands Of Mali gelding cost just €2,000 as a yearling but looks a useful prospect after beating the top two in the market, with four lengths back to the remainder of the field.

Keane had earlier initiated his own double on the Ger Lyons-trained Glyndwr, who justified 6-5 favouritism when beating Benavente by a head in the mile claimer, following up his handicap success over course and distance last month.
