It is rare for a horse to recoup its purchase price in one race but the filly Age Of Elegance almost achieved the feat by landing the most valuable prize on the card - £6,301 - in the 1m2f handicap.

The winner cost 57,000gns as a foal but was bought by her current owner Roger Fell for just 6,000gns when sent through the ring again at Tattersalls last December, and although she has taken a while to come to herself this season she has improved for the addition of cheekpieces.
