Adjali lays down Triumph marker on debut for powerful team

Adjali was promoted to Triumph Hurdle favouritism across the boards following a clear-cut victory on his British debut for trainer Nicky Henderson and owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede.

The French recruit was slick at the hurdles as he cruised home by 13 lengths in the 2m½f juvenile contest, after which bookmakers trimmed his odds to between 7-1 and 12-1 for the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Adjali, who finished more than seven lengths in front of last month's Cheltenham winner Quel Destin when winning at Compiegne in April, had already been prominent in the ante-post Triumph market for his powerful connections.
