'A career-best performance' - Daisy Roots impresses for Jim Boyle and jubilant syndicate

Jim Boyle was delighted with Daisy Roots after her 10-1 success in the mile fillies’ handicap under Pat Cosgrave.
It was the mare’s second win for her new yard since joining from Adam West in March.
Boyle said: “She’s an absolute dream to train and it was nice to have a race set up more in her favour for once – there was a good bit of pace she could aim at. Pat gave her a lovely ride and I’m delighted with how it panned out.
“That was potentially a career-best performance. I think how the race pans out tactically matters more to her performance than the trip. She has the speed for seven, but if she can get a lead into the race, she can handle the mile.”
Daisy Roots is owned by the trainer and the Ownaracehorse syndicate, many of whom were in attendance. Boyle said: “We always get a good turnout with the Ownaracehorse lot. I’m delighted to get another winner for them.”
Doyle double
Archie Watson and Hollie Doyle teamed up for a quickfire double on the card with two favourites.
The first came in the mile handicap as Ventura Dream broke an eight-race losing streak, winning by three-quarters of a length from Elvetham.
That was soon followed by Summertime Blues, who was challenged all the way to the line by the second favourite Cooramook, the pair finishing well clear of the rest.
Victory secured back-to-back wins for the three-year-old, who was making a smooth switch from the turf back to the all-weather.
